Rouge: Don’t worry hun, I’ll be flying along right next to you!

Soldier: *handing parachute to Shadow* here’s yours Agent Shadow

Shadow: *doesn’t take it* how far until we’re there?

Soldier: Actually we’re here now

Shadow: *sarcastic* Wonderful

Shadow: *proceeds to walk to the door turns around with his arms stretched to the sides and tips over and out the plane*

Soldier: WAIT YOUR PARACHUTE

Shadow:

Several minutes later Rouge and Omega find Shadow at the bottom of a small crater. They sit and wait a minute before he suddenly lifts his head up with a loud gasp.

Shadow:….dangit

Shadow:

And Rouge is just poking him with a stick because this is just a random Tuesday for Team Dark.

So many funny scenarios that could happen xD

On the other side, there could be some angst involved with this too. Dying isn’t necessarily pleasant, but coming back is worse. The feeling of every molecule in your body tensing until you finally wake up and have to learn how to breathe all over again. Especially if he wakes up before he’s healed and can’t move.

One scenario I’ve imagined before is, admittedly, a Shadamy moment:

Warning for a bit of gore

The two of them are on a mission together with the other freedoms fighters. They happened to be in the same area at the same time. In the mountains there’s loose boulders, and Eggman’s robots keep dropping them from above.

Amy sees a tiny bird flickie and runs to pick it up. She’s so focused on saving it, she doesn’t notice the boulder coming right for her.

Shadow happens to be nearby, and is there to push Amy out of the way.

Amy coughs through the dust, holding the tiny flickie to her chest. She can hear gasps and gurgles but can’t see anything.

When the smoke finally clears she sees that it’s Shadow, trapped under the boulder. Only his head and one arm are free. He’s gasping for breath, unable to inflate his crushed lungs, and choking on his own blood. His arm grasps the rocky surface, trying to push it off him but without any leverage.

Amy rushes over, distraught. She knows he can’t die but the fact that he’s suffering because of her still makes her feel miserable. And he won’t be able to free himself, he’ll only keep dying and reviving until their able to call Knuckles over to clear the debris. The rock pile is too large for her to break through with her hammer, but it doesn’t keep her from trying, at Shadow’s expense. The dull thuds wrack the rocks above him and rattles his broken body.

Amy stops and decides to run to his side. She isn’t very close to Shadow on a personal level, but can’t stop herself for wanting to be there with him.

He eyes her, eyes wide and pupils dilated in pain. He’s seems slightly agitated with her closeness, humiliated she’s witnessing this.

She apologizes, but thanks him for saving her. He can’t get any clear words out, but still tries to tell her to go on without him. The mission is more important!

She manages to understand his plight and shakes her head saying she’s not going to leave him like this. She grabs his bloodied hand, which instinctually clenches around hers in pain. “I’ll be right here, I won’t leave your side!”

And she does, as his consciousness starts to fade and his hand goes limp in hers. And still yet when he’s brought back, reliving the pain all over again. She stays by his side for hours, waiting for their teammates to finish the mission without them and allow Knuckles to free him.

It’s a long, painful wait. There’s tears involved, from them both. Shadow from the unrelenting pain and tortuous reanimations, and Amy from wishing she could help as she tries to comfort him.
